Bleeding in the Snow

The snowflakes aren't really snowflakes.
Growing and shrinking whenever they please.
They fall and settle,
Rise and stir
At a wind or breeze,
Come and go when it suits them.
Covering everything,
the whole area of beings.
Inside and out.
Cold and ready to disappear,
With the slightest amount of warmth.
Indecisive and inconsiderate,
Uncaring,
They fall and rise
And cover entire beings
Inside and out.
They make up the emptiness,
Filling, covering, and disguising the world,
The world of beings,
The world of nothingness.
Without a care,
Falling and piling up,
Masking everything,
So pure and white.
Confusing and merciless,
Don't step on it,
For it will deceive you when you least expect it.
The ice will break only when you're in the middle of a lake,
With nowhere to turn,
Can't go back,
So don't regret it,
Now you're the one who's falling and cold,
HA!
Deceitful and frigid,
Uncaring,
The world doesn't understand,
They'll never understand.
Don't try,
For it's not worth it,
You'll just end up
Wasting away in the
Thing
The Thing you call a life.
It'll devour you before you can get away,
So watch out for the snow.
Laced with ice,
It has no goal in life,
Yet it's there to take you off your path,
The path you call a life.
So soft, so gentle,
It falls and is admired,
Except by those that understand.
Those who understand,
What is there to understand?
No one knows,
Yet they understand.
What is there to understand?
They don't understand.
They think they do,
But they don't,
Since they think they do.
Only the oblivious really understand
What there is to understand.
Understand?

Why don't you go play in the snow and
Try?
Gain the knowledge
Of things you don't know yet,
And tell me why the snowflakes freeze
And melt and change over time.
You're our only hope.
Don't screw up,
Or you'll be just another snowflake,
Just like me.
You're just destined to fall.
You'll hang on a line,
Blowing in the breeze,
Left behind and forgotten.
Cause when it snows,
The emptiness is filled,
But it won't last forever,
And you still won't know why
Snowflakes really aren't snowflakes at all,
Just a pretty show.
And then you'll realize
You'll always be
Destined to fall.
