My Wee Brendan

When tomorrow starts without you
I'll try not to cry
As the sun rises on my face
And I think about what I've lost.

I can't but help the tears
Flowing down my face
I think about your loving smile
The way you'd keep me safe

Do you remember all the times
We spent together in Dublin?
It was always such good fun
I wish I could have them back.

As I go through another day
Without you, my wee angel,
I look up towards the sky
And know that you are there.

I cry for all that we have lost
And for words that were never said.
I cry for all the days we had
And how well never have them again.

But one day, in a while,
I know I'll come and join you.
It wont be for a while yet,
But I know Ill see you again.

As I arrive at the Gates of Heaven,
You'll be there waiting.
And I'll hug you like I did in life
We'll be together once again.

So as the sun rises
And today starts without you
I look out at the sunrise
And a small smile comes to my face.

Because, my wee Brendan,
My loving, carefree brother,
I know as long as the sun does rise
You are not gone.
