We Must Say Goodbye. ♥

With heavy hearts and a tear in my eyes,

After all these years, we must say goodbye.

Please understand I've done all I could,

If there was anything I could do, you know I would.

I'm sitting here, gently rubbing your ears; while I talk to you softly trying to hold back the tears.

The memories you gave me I'll never forget,

Especially the ones of the day we met.

One last hug and one last kiss, you have no idea how much you'll be missed.

To look into your eyes this one last time.

It's never easy to say good-byes, when they speak to us with their eyes.

When their bodies are tired, weak and old, and the love we've shared becomes pure gold.

The measure of friendship is put to the test, when the body is finished and it's time to rest.

From deep in their hearts their eyes will ask,

" Please ease my pain " - the most difficult task.

So close your eyes baby girl and go to sleep, and finally you'll be in peace.

So with heavy hearts, and tears in my eyes it's just so hard- it's time to say goodbye.
