Scattered To Pieces

I only ask that there is something
A reason, a purpose
An excuse to jump to the other side
Or perhaps someone
That I know will catch my fall
Better than to risk for naught
All in the face of nothing
Or to take a leap of faith
And come crashing down
Into a pit of like-minded fools
Because I will not make that jump again
Not so carelessly
Unless I know it will be worthwhile
For I have broken too many bones
And shattered too many moments
To risk whatever remains
To all be scattered to pieces
