When Doreen Cries

Doreen doesn’t cry...
But she cried today.
She tried to be strong
But it all washed away
Away with the salt
Tears from her eyes
Eyes that are normally dry
Because Doreen doesn’t cry.

All of her life
She’s put up a fight
And found something better
In the light of Christ
He’s helped her be strong
As she sings her own song
A song from her heart
Her heart emotions do not lie
When Doreen cries
Because Doreen doesn’t cry.

Doreen doesn’t cry...
But she cried today
She doesn’t ask why
But she did that today
She doesn’t understand
His strange ways
As the salt in her eyes tease over
Because Ron is angry at her?

Ron doesn’t smile
Didn’t smile today
For he is in denial
Things didn’t go his way
And the blame is so easy
To pin on the person you love
When you just don’t care
Enough

For he is so neat
But there was a mess
A mess he couldn’t stand
Made him distressed
But he doesn’t understand her
Not like he did
Those feelings have hidden
Along with his inner kid
A kid he doesn’t try to remember
Remember because it hurts
It hurts like it did
When she used to cry
but she doesn’t cry anymore
And he never smiles at her

And where does the story go from here?
How will they concur this, together?
Because their love that they once shared
Is hiding from one another...
If only she could understand him
If he could understand her
Then maybe he would smile
And maybe she would smile

But God will stand by their side
He will try to help them see
That they are married; together still
Together until the end of the world...

And when Doreen cries,
Ron will be there to dry her eyes.
