The Great Predator

I watch,
as the greatest predator.
Comes towards me,
with the big black eyes.

The breeze
blows the great mane.
The grass around it,
hiding the animal.

I hear the soft paddle of paws,
as they come toward me.
The air smells,
like fear.

I can see the tail,
moving back and forth.
The sun shines on the animal,
as I see the strong muscles.

I tremble in terror,
as a roar ripples through the air.
I finally see the animal,
to find it is a lion.

A great big lion,
with huge black eyes.
A big mouth,
ready break my bones.

A nose to sniff,
as its prey tremble with panic.
Two huge teeth,
that makes you want to faint.

I watch,
waiting for my death.
The great lion,
comes slowly but surely.

It lays down next to me,
as I'm about to faint in anxiety.
Its huge black eyes,
look at me with care.
