My Mask

I talk to you today
I though it would be fine
My mask set in place
You notice
Even when it slipped

You tried to mess around
But the awkwardness ate me up
Why can't you see the mess you left behind?

I may of broken the links
But you try so hard to fix them
You don't seem to see the pain inside

I put my mask in place
I say hi to you
I never let it slip
But because of you
No one sees the pain

And my only friend
The knife in my hand
And the blood on my hands
