The Picture

I'm no lion, have no roar,
not an eagle, i can't soar,
there's one thing i did master,
being me, a walking disaster,
these walls close in, like a tomb,
i lay in solitude, like the moon,
there are stars that we can't see,
and like her thoughts they eat at me,
what lies beneath that midnight blue,
nothing to some, but everything to you,
little things make my day,
whatever makes the tears go away,
we beg for help and get none,
i hope today that you had fun,
because someday i won't be here,
when you lose control, to help you steer,
you can stand on your own,
you'll find out when i come home,
i was never who you thought,
but i'll show you just why not,
a fine mask i do wear,
i always did and will care,
remember me, your hero,
not the real guy, the zero,
i gave you a picture from when i was two,
that was long before i knew,
that it hangs upon your wall,
i'll always be with you no matter how small.
