Rain Clouds As I Depart

Rain beats down this shattered heart,
waiting for it's pilot to fall apart,
pride keeps me still standing,
but on my head rain's still landing,
i don't think it's pressure will ever stop,
and i'll feel it along the way drop by drop,
just like the pressure building in my head,
this pressure is maddening but easily read,
a pinch of shame, a cup of guilt add a dash of loneliness,
but come sunset, one step could end the emptiness,
it's a wonderful night to hang like the moon,
don't cry for me i'll be in heaven soon,
people are ants as i fall from the sky,
i always knew someday i'd get to fly,
i guess those who lack grace and style,
only have to stay here for a short while,
i know someone is looking down on me,
but as for now stars are all i see,
a cool breeze helps me glide,
as i take the first step on the other side,
like your favorite movie it's over too fast,
but look on the bright side i'm free at last.
