Broken House
Broken House
(metaphor/simile poem)
Your house is broken,
Its walls are cracked
The floors are breaking
And there is dirt in every crevice
But from a distance, you can’t notice
If you get closer you see it, feel it with all your soul
I want desperately to fix it, but I might need your help
I have the tools to do it
All I need is you
Together, you and I, we’ll do everything we need to
We’ll fix the walls
We’ll retile the floors
We’ll make sure that it can stand through even the toughest storms
We’ll make a basement to hide in whenever the weather is turbulent
And we’ll build fires to make us warm when everything is cold
Because I know you’d do the same for me, if my house was broken
