In the past,
your future was bright.
You were determined
to do something right.

Soul in your eyes,
love in your touch.
Joy in that smile
that I loved so much.

And we went together.
though we both loved the dark,
our love was unique,
and we had a spark.

But the world folded over.
We all caved in,
and slowly but surely
it all came to an end.

You ran off to her
as I faded away.
And you broke her down
with the games that you played.

In the present,
you're known for your past.
Which has turned you bitter,
a hollow cask.

Now your eyes are clouded,
and your touch, so rare.
You're no longer happy,
and so, you don't care.

We may talk often now,
but it's not the same.
It's untrusting and somber,
and often just games.

I still see you there,
in the shallowness and hate.
I want to bring that out again,
but i don't have much time to wait.

In the future,
I hope you live in the present,
and achieve great things.
I wish your life to be pleasant.
