Painted Smile

I stand here, alone
A painted smile on my face
fading with the years

People who see me walk away
touched, or not, by my frozen form
But it never lasts for long

They move along onto other things
Go back to living their lives
But I must stay behind

Stuck here for eternity
Stuck in this single moment
Unable to wipe away my grin

They take for granted frowning
Being able to cry away their emotions
But mine just build up on the wall

They rot behind my aging frame
Hidden by my perpetual euphoria
Unseen by the seeing world
