Blind

Bright white
Pristine, sterile like a hospital
Or a morgue, everything locked away
Never to be seen again.

Flashes of color,
Moments where the world is visible,
What lies outside the deception of contentness
Life comes into focus.

But then it's over.
The moment ends, sending me back
Into the pristine white where I'm told I belong,
And the memory fades.

Forever stuck here
Right in the middle of nothing,
Which is surrounded on all sides
By everything.
