Locked In A Tower So Tall.

Locked in a tower,
just a damaged flower.
Long blond hair, dyed black and cut short.
Can't escape, guarded by a viscous fort.

Look out barred windows,
"It'll lighten up, just be strong kiddo."
Brother whispers through bars.
"Just watch the glistening stars!"

Wake one morning to find your prison gone.
A blue jay singing a beautiful morning song.
Wonder free through the green grass,
but you get lost in the forest of black glass.

Try to find your way back.
you weren't made for this life,
you trip over a labeled sack,
pull out a cutting knife.

Be free or be tied down.
Stab the knife into the ground.
Runaway from this town,
Be quite, don't make a sound!

Lay down in a sunny spot,
Forget the troubles this has brought.
Close your eyes and dream.
Awake to hear your frightened scream.

Locked in a tower,
At least you have your picked flower.
Long beautiful hair braided back.
Tried to escape, but got dragged back.
