Perspective Memoirs

Remember that time?
Wind caught in our hair.
Photo, that cost only a dime?
Running forward, suns brilliant flare.

I found it up, in that old, dusty, attic.
The grass much greener, the other side.
That nasty old maze, drab and enigmatic.
Hands clasped together, our young pride.

Sweet memories, brought back for you.
Youthful vigour; limitless, flowing vitality.
No regrets, goodbyes, or lies to redo.
The world our playground, our reality.

Don't cry my girl, nothings changed.
Our hearts were going, pounding deep.
You lie on this bed, sickness arranged.
New love, only ours to keep.

No different now, just the time and date.
Airs freshness, set our heads a-spin.
Old and frail, my only soul mate.
Fresh kisses given, our parents chagrin.

Now I wait, and before you go.
I hold you and you hold me.
Know you're my sweetest treasure bestowed.
Trust that truly set us free.
