Have You Looked, But Not Seen?

Look around
What’s to be seen?
Have you ever looked,
Ever felt
The soft kisses of hesitant droplets
The beginning of rain?
Have you seen the sky reflect a rainbow,
Not only ever-blue,
Each hue swirled
In one quiet sunrise?
Have you watched phantom footprints
Dying in the sand,
As the sea-foam caresses
The space between water and land?
Do you notice these faces
That always surround,
Have you wondered their thinkings,
And the masks hide eyes drowned?
Do you notice these things
Or are your eyes sewn quite shut?
Have you looked but not seen,
Beyond your small world,
Of fishbowl gleams?
