The Girl At The Back Of The Class

The Girl At The Back Of The Class

I'm the girl unnoticed at the back of the class,
The one greeted by whispers as I pass,
The one who forgets to be weak, in an effort to be strong,
The ones who knows the answers, but is afraid to be wrong.

I'll never be held down by chains stronger than the ones I place upon myself,
I'll never lose sight of a dream I own, of happiness and health,
I'll never regain parts of my childhood lost,
Nor let my heart be taken over by a wintry frost.

The burdens I face, I face all alone,
The evil I expel, the good I condone,
I'll continue to pass you, my burdens unspoken,
As your gaze passes, I'll remain unbroken.

Continue to snicker, make fun if you must,
It's the good in my heart alone that I trust,
Who knows about tomorrow, it could all end,
But I credit myself in knowing that in your presence I will never bend.

Go on keep laughing and gawking,
My head held high, Ill keep walking.
A small triumph was made today by the girl at the back of the class,
She held her head high at the laughs as she passed.
