Inner Rain

Sweet dew drops on my skin,
Falling from the sky, soft pitter-patter,
They tumble, they fall, mighty torrent, light downpour,
They reach me, all the same.

It spreads; refreshment, straight to the soul,
It heals; inner noise, peacefully quelled,
It elicits; this feeling within me.
It brings; sweetly evoked serenity.

Heat on my surface, gently contained,
Slowly sapped, one dribble at a time,
Cool rejuvenation, secret wellspring,
Liquid runs through my veins.

It spreads; refreshment, straight to the soul,
It heals; inner noise, peacefully quelled,
It elicits; this feeling within me.
It brings; sweetly evoked serenity.

Slowly, the damp sets in,
A natural wake up call,
It releases me, from all life carries,
Freedom echoes in my foot steps.
