War

Each day friends gather to fight.

When the bell rings, they prepare for combat.

Thirty-five children, holding

Dangerous weapons.

Locked and loaded, ready to dispose of their opponents.

Deadly cries are heard.

Many come to remove the dead.

Barely alive they receive treatment

Working to improve their health

The men who are still fighting don’t even stop to disperse,

Their fellow comrades.

The doctors strive to help the wounded.

Who is winning the growing war?

They all think of plans to destroy the enemy.

Unused soldiers are sent in,

Replacing the expired.

Targeting their opponent.

Adults stand aware of what is going on, but do nothing to stop it.

They act as law enforcement in this battle.

A bell rings, the children stop and walk from the playground back inside of the school,

To continue their education.
