Canvas Curses

Artistry
Takes ambition
Requires work
Inspiration
And quite a decent bit
Of perspiration
To cap it all off
An artist’s canvas
May as well be their soul
True art that show
Splays every vein,
Each sapphire artery
Parchment skin
And flaming eyes
Until all grows dull
Scrawling script depicts
Every silent whisper of a mind
That couldn’t quite bear
The bareness of
Such a world of such despair
Any longer than could take
The last brushstroke to fall
In crimson trails
Upon that final parchment canvas
Of them all
