Alone

I shook the feeling
Away from my mind,
again this time.

Standing on the open road,
I thought that I had
Solved the issue.

I felt the rush,
Running along my skin,
But I soon shook it off.

My knees began to buckle,
As you walked further east,
On California dust.

Your shoes kicked up dirty clay,
As I slowly realized,
You weren't here to stay.

"Goodbye once loved.."
I whispered a bit low,
Into the bitter westward wind.
