Graduation Day
A crowd of faces from distant places. Voices are many. Fears are plenty.
Robes are hung, songs are sung; a new life for us has now begun.
We sit in silence; our thoughts are screaming. On the outside our eyes are gleaming.
Smiles bright, though full of fright. A new book’s page turns for us tonight.
Anticipation, and frustration, all leading to our graduation.
The time has come, the ceremony begun; our time as children is now done.
Smiling faces, simply elated; we’ve finally done it!
We have graduated!

I wrote this on my graduation day, terrified of what was about to happen. You don't think it will be a life changing event until it happens. That day, I felt myself grow up instantly, and it brought tears to my eyes. Tears of joy, for making it. Tears of fear. Tears of excitement. I will never forget that day.
