My Anchor
Drifting out to sea,
No land, no waves
Just endless water
And then you came
My anchor out to sea
Holding me down,
Keeping me up
Making me feel safe
And in the middle of the now beautiful ocean
We made our own perfect island
And it was sunny
And it was our utopia
We never needed to go anywhere else
I was the boat and you were my anchor
But now you’ve let me go
Cast me out to sea again,
And I just a boat without her anchor
No longer having a purpose
But to drift again endlessly
And try to find myself again
Without you
No land, no waves
Just endless water
And then you came
My anchor out to sea
Holding me down,
Keeping me up
Making me feel safe
And in the middle of the now beautiful ocean
We made our own perfect island
And it was sunny
And it was our utopia
We never needed to go anywhere else
I was the boat and you were my anchor
But now you’ve let me go
Cast me out to sea again,
And I just a boat without her anchor
No longer having a purpose
But to drift again endlessly
And try to find myself again
Without you
