Ghost Of Loves Past

I'm shocked into consciousness by the touch of her lips,
my hands flow from her neck to her hips,
no better way to be awoken,
than by the girl so well spoken,
she smiles and all the world is right,
at peace and happy at least for a night,
she deserves better than what i've got,
she's divine i'm just not,
like beauty and the beast,
it makes no sense in the least,
her ebony hair in my face,
her lips too soft to replace,
she lays quiet as love washes over my sea,
an insecure thought screams don't leave me,
my arms enclose her as i kiss her neck,
for my girl only the utmost respect,
she's got it all and she's flying high,
but she still wants to lay by my side,
her eyes paint a picture in my head,
more beautiful than could ever be said,
i'm shaken and cold,
as reality takes a firm hold,
as i wake from my dream in this hospital bed,
i stare at the walls wishing i was dead,
suddenly she floats away into nothing and nowhere,
i still remember the brush of her lips and her vibrant hair.
