Life After Death

Blood flows from an open wound
Forms a dark and crimson pool.
Inflicted in the darkest night,
Slowly but surely, losing sight.

Awaken in the darkest black
Not knowing there’s no going back,
Find a mirror, look at my face
See only the demon’s in its place.

Eyes of bright, sapphire blue
Skin pale as the shining moon,
Hair dark as the deep abyss,
Life taken in a deadly kiss.

Darkness calls, daylight burn;
Never know which way to turn.
The hunger grows, I need to feed
Why must I live on those who bleed?

The night is waning, dawn is neat
Why does it cause me so much fear?
That golden light I used to crave
Will now more likely make my grave.

The dawn is broke, need to sleep
Hidden in darkness, buried deep.
Silently, I accept what I am doomed to be;
A creature of darkness, for eternity.
