the scars will always be

everyone hears
but doesnt speak
the teachers...
they know
but wont say a word
the kids...
they stare and wonder

she sits in a darkened corner
every night
she cries her self to sleep without
the love and comfort needed to keep her warm
she wonders why she's never loved
wonders what exactly she did wrong

she tries to speak
but the words...
they just wont come out

she see's bruises
of black and blue
scattered across
her body

as she sits quietly one night
she hears the door slam shut
her father stumbles in drunk
he starts yelling
as she tries to run away form him
he grabs her arm enough to bruise
she tries to break loose of his grip
but he's too strong

the neighbors...
they know whats happening
but wont help
they just turn off the light
and beg the screaming to stop

one last tear falls from her diamond scared eyes
and soon she'll feel no more pain
even on the body that no more breaths
the scars will always be
