My Eyes

You take my eyes right out my head
And make them see your world instead
I see the hate, the fear, you’re devoid of joy
And see your smile is a decoy
Faking every laugh and every smile
Being empathetic is not my style
You picked me up and shoved me down
To show me why you hide your frown
You’ve put me right inside your shoes
To show me why you hide the blues
I want to help and want to try
So I won’t have to see you cry
Because you are my life, my world, my light
And I don’t want to hear your tears at night
So open up and let me see
What else you chose to hide from me
I won’t tell anyone the pain you feel
It just gets worse though if left concealed
So let it loose and let it free
Loose your problems upon me
I’d be glad to take them off your hands
Because your happiness I still demand
So now that I have your problems here
I need my eyes so I can see the answers clear
