The Old Me

The old me,
Was full of insecurities.
She didn't know what to do,
To prove who she was to me and you.
She never talked, hiding in her shell,
She looked at the world, like it was her personal hell.
But over the summer, something changed,
Her personality had been rearranged.
She talked more often, and always had a smile,
She hadn't felt that happy in a while.
Now, the old me, the fearful me,
Has changed for the world to see.
The new me is here, ready to fight,
She no longer panics in the spot light.
She says and does what she wants,
And ignores the taunts.
But the old me is still here, deep inside,
And if it wasn't for her, the new me would not survive.
