A New City
I see it collapse before my eyes,
The city I have built of lies.
The buildings slowly but surely fall,
The terrible nothing is affecting all.
The crumbling pillars and the paths;
The empty faces, donned with masks.
It all disappears, there's nothing around.
I'm the last thing standing in this town.
I shed a tear for the city that's gone,
But I know my pain won't last for long.
A new city will be built in its place -
A city of trust, honesty and faith.
The city I have built of lies.
The buildings slowly but surely fall,
The terrible nothing is affecting all.
The crumbling pillars and the paths;
The empty faces, donned with masks.
It all disappears, there's nothing around.
I'm the last thing standing in this town.
I shed a tear for the city that's gone,
But I know my pain won't last for long.
A new city will be built in its place -
A city of trust, honesty and faith.
