Time

Let me tell you a story
called Once Upon A Crime.
Doubt filled my days
i've done my time.
Lived for fear that decay
had taken all i knew.
Eaten alive,
by the smile i withdrew.
Dug myself a hole
i filled it with doubt.
tripped in it one day
more than once i cried out.
Starved of compassion
he pulled me out of my lair
he said,
"Kid, this is no place for holes", and he cared.
a whole year i was trapped.
in my hole all alone
in a prison of sadness
But from it i've grown.
I filled it back up,
once upon a crime.
Never going back,
I've done my time.
