Words That Save

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

When impostors come,
and lay claim to pride.
Stand there and lay under thumb?
All for false, spoken lies?
Say goodbye to foolish aims,
Made by slaves of yesterday.
Toss aside their binding chains.
March right on, no longer prey.

When yelled out loud,
Denied title turned brand.
They fall, trembling knees, cowed.
Choose to raise up glories hand!
Submit not, to todays unwise crowns.
Be your own master, life and fate.
Stumble onto holy grounds.
Explorer, even destinies mate.

When thoughts become,
Man's cry to quit.
Give up, less than scum.
Human, you are no longer fit.
Still, words go on.
Spoken, cheeky grin.
Remember they go beyond brawn,
If, why and when.
