Keep on Dreaming

I sat comfortably along the edge of the wooden fishing dock.
All the boats swam far away into the sunrise.
Now I'm alone watching the sunset.
My chocolate strands dangling down my back.
I lick my tender lips.
The black and white stripped jacket I wore hung loosely.
I felt the wind press against my bare feet as they lightly hover over the crystal clear water.
My hands brace the sides of me.
I gradually turn to pick up the rose that was lying peacefully.
I drop it into the water and watch it as it swims away from shore.
Words break free from my lips saying, "Happy Birthday to me."
