I Want To Spread My Wings and Fly

I want to spread my wings and fly.
Fly away from this place,
Where there’s mountains and trees,
For the whole world to see.
Fly somewhere where no one knows me,
Where no one knows what’s been said.
Fly somewhere where I can start over.
Fly somewhere where it’s a new beginning,
Where I can be free.
Fly somewhere where I fit in,
Where I’m no longer mocked for being different.
Fly somewhere where country music’s cool,
And having that accent is normal.
Fly somewhere where no one makes fun of the way I dress,
Even though I see no problem with it.
Fly somewhere where I can be me,
And no one objects to that.
I want to spread my wings and fly.
Fly away from this place,
Where I’m mocked and can’t show who I really am.
