Strawberry Minutes.

tick tock
drip drop

a golden pocket watch sits on the wall
so much time is wasting as I sit in a roaring silence
sweet honey drips in the hourglass
if only father time could give me some guidance.

a red gumdrop cherry sits at the top
soft whipcream makes my scheme look like a dream
the strawberry red has never made me feel such dread
as i watch your letter flot downstream.

tick tock
drip drop

a sound of oath, of truth, of lies
beats on the barriers of my mind
time it yells time it screams
let me watch it as it becomes undefined.

a sun has never felt so cold
the cone made of vanilla warms my tongue
sitting here waiting, the time passes slow
and here i am, growing young.

tick tock
drip drop

a dream I once had of a sweet summer day
ice cream on my tongue before it started to melt away
and when I became distracted with friends
I noticed the sweet as it blends
life caught up, and melted into gray.

strawberry minutes I called this lost time
if only killing time was a crime
I'd be locked away for good, lost in what I thought was real
oh if only I could, I would steal
steal it all back and never let it go.
