And By The Candlelight I Bled

The solemn black of a summer midnight:
So useful for hiding a life unwanted.
Hear a single, quick strike of a match,
And by the candlelight I bled.

My soft amber kissed skin glows brightly,
With shades of gold in flickering bounces.
And nothing but silence and flickering bounces,
And by the candlelight I bled.

A burst of red crimson through all the yellow,
And the red becomes my candle burning so brightly.
Burning so fiercely, so painfully, so brightly,
And by the candlelight I bled.

The bounces of light reflect off my blood so nicely;
My walls are painted with the dancing colours of autumn.
A flash of silver is present in the warmth,
And by the candlelight I bled.

A wisp of wind carries through my window ajar,
And my once comforting flame is extinguished.
I return to the solemn black of my summer midnight,
And by the dark of night I bled.
