It may seem appealing, but you just want to start keeling.

You know when you get the feeling,
Like you’re not good enough?
In every aspect of your life:
Between your friends;
Within your family and within yourself.
And thinking about it makes you want to start shielding.

It’s like an inside-out iron maiden,
Inside, at the bottom, of your stomach.
Grinding and grinding about your lining.
Like it’s chewing you up,
And you feel like you’ve already been beaten.

You know you’re standards aren’t as high as they need to be,
But it doesn’t matter how hard you try,
When you think you’re there,
When you think you’re strong enough to handle it,
You lose it, and everything in black and white is what you’re seeing.

You want it gone,
You want it out,
But it’s already inside and penetrating.
You want to overcome this,
You feel you have to be able to, so you can keep on living,
You want to begin the healing.

And yet it may seem appealing,
But at that present moment,
You just want to start keeling.
