Picture Perfect

To some, it's a dream.
White picket fence, blue shutters
It only makes me scream.

The expectations,
Surrounded by limitations
Of what the Perfect family should be.

Dad, loves his kids with all his heart
Mom, knowing her family and her could never part.
Jimmy, head quarterback, straight as a pin
Suzy, still a virgin, and naturally thin.

Or that's what they want you to think.

Dad still wishes they choose to have an abortion,
Mom, scurries out they door, slipping on her coat,
Jimmy, a closet gay, fears rejection,
Suzy, on her lover's word, shoves her fingers down her throat.

Lies, surround them all
Putting up a front, trying to stand tall.
But one day we Must succumb,
Accept that we are different
Realize that everyone has faults
And ignore the Judgment.
