Damaged

What is damaged anymore?
Is it a broken heart
or is it as simple as a tear?

Does damage have a limit?
Can it go away on it's own?
Is there a way to prevent it?

Fear grabs hold of those weak
and the ones who are afraid.

it breaks their hearts,
stealing their spirits.

Then it leaves them damaged,
broken within and outside.

There is no maximum to what it can do,
no deadline to how long it will last

There's nothing against it,
and no way to stop it.

There is only hope to make it through
and possibly, even become whole.
