Distant Memories

Distant memories
tell of a past unknown
realistic in dreams.

Where could we
have possibly met?
Was it in a dream?
Just a dream?

Nothing more than
a mere mirage,
a figment
of my imagination?
A trick of the mind?

Still...Was it
maybe somewhere
more real than that?

I could feel your eyes,
as they looked into mine;
I felt them holding me
freezing me in time.

The look in your eyes,
told me you loved me
but were those sentiments
nothing more
than old illusions?

A shooting star
pointed straight to you
and I took your hand
as we floated among
to the stars and clouds

Stuck in an eternity
known only to us
the wind guided us
blowing us softly along

Lost in a trance,
we only knew
of ourselves
and the instruments
playing around us

violins and piano
one in harmony
like you and I were
once upon the dream

Sunrise soon came,
we departed before
we even knew
each others names

We were imbedded
in the other's memories,
dreams, hearts...
and souls even

A connection so close,
an unbreakable bond
a relationship formed
