Simple Getaway

I'll make a simple getaway
maybe leave in the middle
of the night, leave a letter
by your bed, making up a lie
can't tell you the truth,
why I have to leave, escape
It would cause more problems
like I always caused before
I can't cause anymore damage,
it already seems beyond repair
maybe if I leave, just maybe,
they will all just go away
It seems unlikely it will happen
it's too damaged, like myself
too hurt to bring closure
just stare and look, in defeat
will dreamful nights come to me
showing better days than experienced
or will there still be sleepless nights
with nothing left to hope for
except a peace afterwards
when death finally comes
the ultimate getaway
an unknown peace
will take over the heart
