Lies of Truth

You laid me down
Promising I’d be okay
I trusted you
I loved you
“You’ll still be here when I awake?”
The question was so simple
You could’ve just said no
“Of course.”
You leaned down
Leaving a feather light kiss to my lips
I smiled slightly
Content with your answer
I slipped into slumber
As you stroked my hair
When I awoke
You were no longer there
“Brendon?”
I searched the room
I searched the halls
I searched the whole building
You were nowhere to be found
You lied to me
You left me
In my most vulnerable state
Leaving me to die.
