Thursday Poem

My restless heart beat,
And I stared at my feet,
Consumed by hopes of second chances.
And though I fought,
My eyes were caught,
As you threw me wayward glances.

In doubt I sighed,
In fear I hide,
Praying you saw me as I'd wish to be.
I solemnly looked,
As you kept me hooked,
With promise of your good company.

I am silent as I think,
Wish to be adored like your drink,
And again you act numb to me.
I'm left defeated and riled,
As you comment on the child,
You had always believed me to be.

My thoughts clearly unknown,
Resisted being shown,
As I smiled just as I did before.
Your feelings suddenly begotten,
And as quickly forgotten,
Let you regret kisses you remember no more.
