The Emptiness Of Love

When you feel like your world is ending
And you’ve lost all you thought worth defending
When all you once loved seems to be gone
Look up, toward the radiant aurora of the dawn

But do not pray to the glowing sunlight
For be as it may, it shall not drown out the night
When blinded eyes shall finally grow to see
The light within shall open up and be free

Behind reflected eyes a silhouette of a shadow shall reside
Staring so deeply into the soul, hoping the light shall stand beside
So it may fly like a bird into the heart of the soul
And begin to dig within it; creating endless blackened holes

For then the pain shall be too much to bear
And perhaps you shall believe that this life is no longer fair
That you can step once more into the rain
So that you may dwell within the melancholy pain

The rift conjoined within the heart of an ex-lover
Who has fallen from the favor of his heart’s cover
Dependence upon the pain, screaming for freedom from the inside
Praying that it’s a dream, that the other had lied

So this forgotten shadow can empty the emptiness
Whilst being sent to the times once seen as painless
Broken down like a tree struck down by lightning
Marvelous miracles most see as unbearably frightening

The shattering of what see as an entirety
A lie that must have gained endless notoriety
For when two break apart, there is no full heart
Each has given a piece to the other to tear apart

But lest their love never falls into the abyss
Then they are forever destined to lose each other’s heavenly kiss
And then they shall retract to the times they shared
When each lonely soul seemed to have cared

Until the rapture of the heart sought otherwise
And then the feather of love grew in size
Making it much too profound to nurture
Then the course of love shall finally alter

Straying away from the peace in silence
Creating a cataclysm within the condescending conscience
And thousands of particular pains shall be created
From what was a love none thought would be deviated

A word, a whisper, is all it shall take
For a broken heart, one lover to make
After that forbidden line has been crossed
The love once shared within the heart shall be lost

Then the rain shall grow much more profound
Whilst the tears of the two make their raucous sound
Begging for each others warm return
Unfortunately, each broken heart shall learn

That they’re love, once so strong, shall once more live
Past pains a person shall never be able to forgive
Shall occupy where the this thing called love once lived
With thousands of frozen memories being endlessly relived

Mistakes that could have been avoided
So that their love, would not have been voided
And thrown back into the warmth of nothingness
Leaving only the tearful eyes of a voice asking for forgiveness

Trying so hard to grasp all the memories of the past
Thinking if it is retained, then their love shall forever last
Only to bring forth more pain than any brain can retain
Then shall it be realized, that they shall falter; their love was in vain

For a promise made in the name of love is just a gratified lie
Brought forth within the ecstasy of love that soon shall die
Just to satisfy the desire within the mind of the young lover
But before the leaves fall down, their young love shall discover

That nothing created so immaturely shall ever hope to survive
Soon they shall see that something that was once so alive
Shall fall upon the ground and shatter like meaningless glass
For that is all love is, a hopeless, bloated, unworthy mass.

Glorified throughout the centuries as the unheralded savior
Only to be so easily lost and burnt by fire to a meager cinder
There are no sacred boundaries that have not been broken
By two lovers who deviated from the many rules unspoken

Only to realize that the boundaries are hidden for a reason
So that two lovers can remain together throughout the many seasons
And reside together to create a light shining in the night
So that all the blinded can see clearly in their sight

But perhaps then, jealously shall breed like an animal
Creating creatures cultivated to strive for a false angel
To flaunt like a common rag for all the blinded to see
Broken seams can then be pulled and set free

Like fireflies floating for a source of light
To feed their hunger and create a will to fight
As they fall apart at their very seams
And fall into a world of their false dreams

Perhaps then they may shout from their insides
To free them and pull them from their infernal places to hide
And fulfill the dreams that they once believed to have attained
Only to see the love they created become restrained

Then upon the emptiness they shall sit like a throne
A throne that is as valuable to the heart as is a stone
Hoping that one-day their love shall return like a hero of war
Only to have each passing day further and further shatter their core

As they hold within their hand a scepter made of their heart
Each day, the malevolent wind comes and slowly tears it apart
To create a king without his queen, a lover without his other
Hoping to once more face the enemy created within closure

As they were before, the unthinkable shall occur
They will begin to savor their life as it were
For the pressure of it all, shall all be erased
Like Atlas letting the world fall, so shall the disgraced

And then the oceans in the hearts shall join once more
Leaving the broken with a conjoined still beating core
Until once more their frozen memories meet the heat
Leaving all of their boundaries theirs to defeat

For the day shall come, when the tears shall no longer be able to fall
And no longer will the lover strive to hear their other’s call
When the day comes, shall it already be to late?
Have the broken already been lost to an unfortunate fate?

Lying nowhere like a hollow emptied out shell
Waiting forever to bow to the fires of hell
So that their pain can be washed away by the fiery tide
Of the serpentine river residing on the other side

Burning their broken hearts to a blissful ash
As the pain within no longer has a reason to clash
Whilst death awakes and finally begins to part
Consuming constantly colliding concaves called hearts

And sealing them within his blackened locket
Breaching it only to pour a selection into his goblet
To satisfy his thirst for the ever-lasting pain of a broken heart
Who decided to release themselves and begin to impart

Upon a journey to regain their lost lover
Before they discover, that there lover left for another
Only further sanctifying the pain sown within
Creating curses cast upon the wound they call skin

Hoping to ease the pain that has haunted them like a ghost
Whilst watching worriedly to the once-golden coast
Hoping that they can capture a glimpse of the forgotten light
That used to reside within them throughout every single night

But alas, the conjuncture of love is much out of their control
For they have already done the unthinkable and lost their soul
To the ocean of blood residing within their obsession
Exhausted, they find their new home in the realm of depression

Where they can reside by the memories of their love
Until finally, their souls are sent to the above
