Just a dream

Her chocolate curls glisten in the remaining sunlight.
The dream she once dreamt, was slowly drifting away before her eyes.
Those tiny fingers of hers twitch as the breeze sends her in shivers.

The town stands in flames and clouds of smoke.
But all she can do is watch as it burns to the ground.
Knowing all her loved ones are now all gone.

She must walk away.
She must understand.
She was an outsider.
She was a nobody.

All she has now are tears.
As she now witnesses all her fears.
She clasps into the flakes of green.
As she can’t believe what she has seen.

Her heart has fallen.
As she can’t hold her old wounds anymore.
Let them break.
Release all that hate.

She lets out a scream.
As all she thinks that this is all just a dream.
