Counting Stars
Counting stars, there are so many;
At the same time there are so few.
One stands out more than any
Of them and I know it’s true.
All alone in the packed sky
I watch it twinkle high above.
Come to me, I’ll call you my
Only star, my only love.
When a star falls, is it dead?
Does is live on in the earth?
As it turns a scarlet red
And burns like fire upon a hearth?
I watch you fall, my little star;
I wish to snatch you from the air.
I’ll treasure you, near and far,
Special star you are so fair.
I believe stars are much more
Than simply just a burning gas.
I believe stars, when they soar
Leave a mark that’s unsurpassed.
At the same time there are so few.
One stands out more than any
Of them and I know it’s true.
All alone in the packed sky
I watch it twinkle high above.
Come to me, I’ll call you my
Only star, my only love.
