Between my teeth

I remember the days of before,
when curtains of rain blocked my sight,
when I washed my hair in remorse,
in remorse and salty tears.

I remember when I said goodbye,
and my feet had carried me to the end of the world,
but I could never take that last step,
the step that would lead to my downfall.

I remember when the stars in my eyes went out,
my veins were filled with black ink.
The wind couldn't move my soul anymore,
and I felt like anyone but myself.

But as the summer air breezes through my heart,
these stonecold ruins once again crawl to life.
How my mind is once again ablaze,
with thoughts most sincere.
Oh darling, it's been such a long time...
