Patiently Waiting

My first thought when I saw you was "Wow."

You were attractive and amazing.

The more we talked the more I fell for you.

I never thought we could even be friends.

But we are, and I'm so grateful to know you.

Everytime I talk to you I feel happy, like nothing can go wrong.

The smile bestowed upon your face fills my life with joy.

And I know its stupid to feel the way I do because I know you can't possibly feel the same way about me.

You're with her, you don't see me, I'm an invisble object of nothingness wanting something I can't have.

Yet I dream, and pray I can someday.

Just the very sight of you makes me happy.

When something's wrong, I do everything in my power to help.

I've tried to get over you, I mean I have a boyfriend, but you are still on my mind.

You will always be there, stuck in my head, you are impossible to forget.

"Take your time, I'm only dying." The words that describe how I feel when you are with someone else.

The words I think of as I wait, as I wait for you, as I wait for my turn, for my happiness.

If only I could tell you, I would, if I could.

But I can't, I can't tell you because I don't believe you like me back.

And I don't want to risk our friendship.

I don't want to hurt anyone, especially my friend.

I know I shouldn't feel this way.

It wouldn't last anyway, distance as gotten in the way before.

I'm stuck and confused.

I am praying you realize on your own, without me telling you.

I never want to be the one to make the first move.

Because if I do, I don't know if people are telling the truth that I like me back.

Too many lies have been told, too many tears shed.

I am just patienly waiting for the day things get better.

Patiently dying inside waiting for you.

Patiently waiting, because you're worth it.
