Somewhere Over a Darker Shade of Rainbow

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way down where hell waits
There’s a land we’ve been promised
Past suburbia gates

Somewhere over the rainbow
Where all the skies turned black
Where all the nightmares we dare to dream
Fall under close attack

Some night we’ll thank our lucky stars
And wake up where the storms are far behind, us
Where heartaches melt like cherry drops
Way down below the tombstone plots
That’s where you’ll find us

Somewhere over the exit signs
Ravens fly
They flew over the rainbow
Why then, oh why can’t we?
Someday we’ll wish upon a drink
And forget all the reasons to think
Where the hopeless melt like frozen hearts
Ripping hurtful words to parts

Somewhere over the drunken road
Below the reefer skies
Little birds called souls
Cry ‘they don’t want to die’

Yet, if sickened little blue birds
Are still awake and alive
Why, oh why aren’t I?
