Joshua

When I was young I met this timid boy.
He was terrified to speak a few words;
But overtime he became my hearts joy.
And he left my life like a flock of birds.

His name was Joshua and he’s not mine.
Joshua left my body with a wave.
I remember he was just only nine.
And that’s when I realized he was brave.

His death made me realize I loved him.
I loved his gorgeous eyes that were like gems.
He left me when he went to take a swim.
I accuse your early death on your friends.

Even though I refuse to let you go;
I will meet another and say hello.
