Winter on the Beach
I’ve asked you a million times,
To bring me the shoreline,
In a moonlit disguise.
Bring me the waves quietly pouring in,
Salt on my eyelashes,
And the sharp stabbing pain of coral cutting my skin.
Bring me a moon with nowhere to go,
A sun slowly fading over our heads,
And the bitter waters surrounded by snow.
I’m not one to beg or cling to a dream,
But I’m alone in my bed,
And I swear it’s better than I make it seem.
To bring me the shoreline,
In a moonlit disguise.
Bring me the waves quietly pouring in,
Salt on my eyelashes,
And the sharp stabbing pain of coral cutting my skin.
Bring me a moon with nowhere to go,
A sun slowly fading over our heads,
And the bitter waters surrounded by snow.
I’m not one to beg or cling to a dream,
But I’m alone in my bed,
And I swear it’s better than I make it seem.
